The Oratorio Society of Utah -

The society was established on January 15, 1915 by Professor Squire Coop, who was also the founder of the University of Utah's Music Department. His extensive musical training and natural leadership ability made the Oratorio Society of Utah an instant success, and contributed significantly to the rich musical heritage of Utah. Under Professor Coops direction the society swelled to more than 300 voices, and drew some of the finest conductors and soloists to perform, as well as many thousands to hear their performances.
